Our Plan for Pak Sucipta

During our last visit, we brainstormed with Pak Sucipta about how we could provide sustainable support for him and his two daughters. It was immediately clear that providing them with two new mattresses in order for everyone to sleep well was a priority.

However, we also needed to find a solution to ensure Pak Sucipta could have a steady and regular income, allowing him to provide for his twin daughters on a daily basis. That’s when we had a great idea: what if Pak Sucipta became the driver for our upcoming Food Rescue project - an initiative we had been dreaming about and were already in the planning stages for?

When asked if he had a rain coat and a helmet for the job he showed us a thin plastic poncho and flimsy helmet, telling us that he would love to start the job immediately. However, Pak Sucipta explained that he doesn’t feel safe driving at night due to his poor eyesight. He has -6 diopter in his right eye and can not afford the glasses he needs to correct his vision.

Alright, we have a plan - let’s go shopping! Let’s get Pak Sucipta new glasses, a safe helmet, a proper raincoat and two comfortable mattresses for him and his daughters. With these essentials, Pak Sucinta will be ready to become the daily driver for our new Food Rescue program, ensuring he has a steady and reliable income to provide for his daughters from now on.
